Packaging in China employs some of the most advanced techniques in the world. As China is one of the Worlds’ leaders in the manufacturing sector. A variety of articles like Electronic Articles, Mechanical Machinery, Garments, Consumables and Toys are manufactured in China. And a large percentage of these articles are exported overseas from China for foreign Consumption. And export of goods contributes as much as 35% to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the country. Hence exports play an important role in maintaining the economic stability of the country. Proper Packaging ensures that the articles reach the end customers 100% intact and damage free. It also shields the manufactures from losses that can be endured due to damage of articles in transit.
Some of the commonly used materials in packaging in China are Thermocol, Bubble Wraps, Cardboard cartons, and Corrosion resistant films, neutral plastic and neutral metal foils. Thermocol sheets are usually used in packaging in China to shield large Electronic articles like Television, Radio etc. Thermocol is made of organic polymer polystyrene, this material is foamy and soft, this absorbs shocks during transit and also ensures that the article remains scratch free during transit. Bubble wraps are used in addition to thermocol in packaging in China for transport of extremely delicate electronic articles like mobile phones, loud speakers and Compact Discs.
The Bubble wrap is nothing but a sheet of plastic with air packets which further absorb the shocks and keep the delicate electronic articles safe during transit. Corrosion resistant films are usually wrapped over Mechanical Machinery when there is high risk of corrosion during transit and the probable damages due to shocks are less. The corrosion films are usually made of passive metals like Aluminum.
Neutral plastic and metal foils are used in packaging in China to transport consumables like fruits and meat. The packaging materials should be neutral so that they do not interact with the food stuff and cause harmful reactions when consumed. The articles are finally placed in card board cartons for ease of transport. The carton usually contains information like nature and position of the article inside the carton and handling instructions during transit printed on it.
Modern and effective methods of packaging in China have contributed greatly to the growth of Export industry in China. Since a lot of vendors are convinced that their articles are going to be safe in transit and they are not going to incur any losses, they are willing to export their goods leading to growth of the industry.
